The Fighter is a tragic, poetic and powerful drama, epic in its themes, yet intimate in its character and story. The narrative is purposely simple, no major plot or twists. A dialogue, character driven Play, aspiring for its power to come from its simplicity.
Through the two protagonists, we see them battle with their own inner conflict and the conflict they have towards each other. Expressed, are themes, that question the fundamentals of life.
In a Society of apathy, passion fights for it's voice, and this is what the Play is, it's a modern day 'Passion Play', expressing the desire of 'Dying to Live, not Living to Die'.
Workshop Reviews:
One of the Five Best London Plays. THE INDEPENDENT
The Fighter is deeply powerful and brutal, yet fiercely eloquent and elegant. Peter Cadwell gives a blistering performance. There's no denying the quality of the experience, it's a testament to Cadwell's skills as a writer, he can be perceptive and moving, you come away feeling like you've seen something special. TIME OUT
